Nancy Wilson is one of many musicians that was friends with Taylor Hawkins. To honor the late Foo Fighters drummer, the Heart guitarist wrote a song in tribute.

Titled "Amigo Amiga," Wilson told Consequence of the song, "I heard myself in tears saying ‘too soon too soon’ which became a refrain in the song. I spent quite a few sleepless nights trying to express it all. He was a wonderful friend and we always had funny pet names for each other like 'Amigo' and 'Amiga' as well as 'Luv' and 'Dahling.'"

Wilson added, "It is such a painful loss — but it also feels like Taylor has galvanized and re-energized rock ‘n’ roll with so many of his musician friends and fans coming together. It’s a new renaissance Taylor and the Foo family have gifted us all."

This isn't the first time in recent years Wilson released a song in tribute to a late musician. On her 2021 debut solo album You and Me, there was a song titled "4 Edward," in honor of Eddie Van Halen.

All proceeds from "Amigo Amiga" will go to MusiCares.

Wilson is taking part in the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert tomorrow (September 27) at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. She's part of a stacked lineup that includes some of the best rock drummers in the world including Travis Barker, Matt Cameron, Danny Carey, Stewart Copeland, Lars Ulrich, Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor and more.

There hasn't been any announcement about the L.A. show streaming anywhere, unlike the London show on September 3.

The London Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert featured some of the late Foo Fighters drummer's best friends, biggest influences and peers. Combined, those artists delivered an incredible six-hour show.

In memory of the first anniversary of the passing of Taylor Hawkins on March 25, we're looking back on the two tribute concerts organized by the Foo Fighters. The London and Los Angeles shows were incredible events full of light and love. They were reflections of Hawkins, himself. Foo fans the world over will forever miss and remember one incredible drummer and ambassador for rock music.

We send our thoughts to the family and friends of Taylor Hawkins on this anniversary and every day they miss the unique force he was.

The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at London's Wembley Stadium on Saturday, September 3 will likely go down as one of the most emotional and cathartic moments in rock in 2022.

The stacked bill featured some of the late Foo Fighters drummer's best friends, biggest influences and peers. Combined, those artists delivered an incredible six-hour show. It's one the thousands in attendance and those watching around the world won't soon forget. The Foo Fighters, themselves, delivered an incredible set where they were joined by a number of different drummers. Among them were Josh Freese, Travis Barker, Nandi Bushell, Rufus Taylor and Shane Hawkins, Taylor's 16-year-old son. If that weren't enough, Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance, too.

Preceding the Foos' set was an all-star lineup of performers that included Queen, Rush's Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Stewart Copeland, Brian Johnson, Lars Ulrich, Mark Ronson, Violet Grohl, The James Gang, The Pretenders, Them Crooked Vultures, Supergrass and more.

Erica Banas is a news blogger who's been covering the rock/classic rock world since 2014. The coolest event she's ever covered in person was the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. (Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
