A 52-Year-Old Who Keyed a Car Called It a “Spring Break Mistake”

A Missouri man vacationing in Florida is facing some trouble after he took a butter knife to a couple's 2023 Nissan.

According to reports the owners of the vehicle spotted a man standing near their car “making motions” near the driver’s door. When the couple confronted the man, he just laughed and ran down the street.

After looking the car over, they discovered the side of their car was scratched up and the paint was damaged. Next to the car was a butter knife that he was using. The car had over $1000 worth of damage.

This whole situation took place outside a restaurant.  Police where able to use the security footage to get the phone number of the suspect, who could be seen writing it down on a wait list. Police called  Clifford Craig Edwards, who admitted to the crime, and called it a "spring break mistake."

Edwards was arrested on a felony criminal mischief charge.

March 8, 1993, quite frankly, the world changed. It is on that day that Mike Judge creations Beavis And Butt-Head graced the airwaves of MTV and soon thereafter became a pop culture phenomenon. (Fun fact: Their popularity led to them appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone three times.)

The old lady who can’t wait to play the “slots,” Butt-Head falling in love with a flight attendant, and an appearance from The Great Cornholio makes this excerpt pretty perfect.

For real…this happened, and we’re sure Bruce Stambler was thrilled that his hard work in Sound Effects Editing was being presented by the likes of Beavis and Butt-Head. Nonetheless, it’s still pretty funny.

Kurt Loder, a legitimately serious journalist for MTV News, wasn’t even immune to getting involved with the music network’s biggest stars.   Clearly, he was a pretty good sport about it…even though he never scored.
