A 32-year-old guy in Austin is facing arson charges after he accidentally burned down a building last week.

John Daniel Banks was arrested after allegedly setting an historic building in downtown Austin on fire. According to reports Banks was staying in the building without permission.

He admitted that he tried to make nachos in a very unconventional way...he lite a bag of chips on fire to cook the nachos.

Banks claims the bed caught on fire and he attempted to put the fire out then left the building.

When he returned to the building the second floor was then on fire. Banks was charged with arson and a punishment of 2-10 years in jail and a $10,000 fine.
