Tom Holland admits he and his girlfriend Zendaya were in a hairy situation due to his latest role in The Crowded Room. The 27-year-old actor opened up about how getting into character for the '70s-era Apple TV+ drama series affected his love life. Per E! News, Holland said of his transformation, "Having that hairstyle -- I was really skinny as well while we were making this show. I wasn't training, I'd lost a lot of weight. I feel like Zendaya's a saint putting up with my hair for as long as she did." He adds that "She had a lot to put up with, with me looking like that for ten months, it was rough."

His "crazy hairstyle," which featured scraggly-looking curly hair with bangs, was something Tom knew would garner a reaction from the Euphoria actress. "I don't like my hair being that dark," the Spider-Man: No Way Home star continued. "I really like how my hair is like my mum's, kind of red. Yeah, it was tough. That was a part of the show that I don't miss for sure."

As we previously reported, Holland had a "tough time" on The Crowded Room; in addition to starring in it, he also serves as a producer. He announced he will be taking a year-long break from acting as "a result of how difficult this show was." For the first time, Holland started to see his work bleed into his personal life. Despite being challenging, the actor says he “really enjoyed” working on psychological thriller series and “loved the learning curve of becoming a producer."

The Crowded Room follows the aftermath of Tom's character Danny getting arrested after a shooting in New York City in 1979. The first three episodes of the series are already streaming on AppleTV+, with new episodes dropping every Friday. Watch the trailer below.
