She was bitten by a black bear after she punched it in the nose in an effort to protect her dog. After hearing her dog barking in the backyard, she saw a black bear chasing it. First, she tried to scare the bear but it didn't leave and then the bear fought back and the woman received puncture wounds to her hand and wrist, but was able to fend off the animal, and save her dog. She was treated and released from a New Hampshire hospital. Wildlife officials are reminding people that bear attacks are rare, especially in Maine.

Today (July 2) is National I Forgot Day. Per ABC News, the holiday was started by Gaye Anderson. She told the outlet in 2009, "It probably had to be 10 years ago … it's been well over five. I just went through a particularly forgetful period -- I had a heavy workload doing student service work, as well as teaching, and things were slipping by -- my daughter's anniversary, my daughter's birthday … my anniversary. Our anniversary was April 26th and I always think 4-24 instead of 4-26."
Anderson described it as a day to mark things and events you have forgotten about, along with those you may forget about in the future. She says every year, she receives emails from various senior living facilities telling her they celebrate the holiday. Her theory behind the holiday's growing popularity is that the population is getting older, and sometimes, older people tend to forget stuff.

Eric Clapton is the only person inducted into the Rock Hall three times.
There are many two-time inductees into the Rock Hall, but there's only one person who's been inducted into the Rock Hall three times: Eric Clapton. The guitar icon was first inducted into the Rock Hall in 1992 as a member of The Yardbirds. The following year, he was inducted as a member of Cream. Finally, in 2000, Clapton was inducted as a solo artist.
Chrissie Hynde and Ray Davies have a daughter together.
Hynde and Davies were together in the early '80s. Although they planned to get married, the Pretenders singer and the Kinks singer never made it down the aisle. However, they did have one child together, Natalie, in 1983. Natalie Hynde would make headlines in 2014 for her involvement in protesting a fracking site in England. A photo of her is below, and she certainly looks like a unique combo of her rock star parents.

Keith Richards once (sort of) threatened to stab Donald Trump.
The Rolling Stones had a unique run-in with Donald Trump in the '80s, and according to the BBC, it was the last time Keith Richards said he was ever truly angry. According to Keef, Trump was the promoter for a Stones show in Atlantic City on their 1989 Steel Wheels tour. Richards said, "[It was billed as] 'Donald Trump presents the Rolling Stones' [with the band's name written in miniature]. I got out my trusty blade, stuck it in the table and said: 'You have to get rid of this man!'" When recalling this story in 2018 when Trump was President of the United States, Richards concluded, "Now America has to get rid of him. Don't say I didn't warn you!"
Alice Cooper HATES balloon animals.
Cooper shared this interesting fact in a September 2015 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. To clarify, the Godfather of Shock Rock has nothing against balloons, but he can't stand the noise balloons make when they're twisted into their various shapes. Corden then busts out some balloons and purposely makes the noise that causes Cooper to cringe. After revisiting this moment, this author is rather glad Corden is no longer on the air. This is just rude.
The Rolling Stones once recorded a jingle for Rice Krispies cereal.
Going back to the Rolling Stones with this final rock fact. Did you know during the band's early days before their career really took off they actually recorded a commercial jingle for Rice Krispies cereal? Yes, this is very real, and it happened in 1964. Per Mental Floss, Brian Jones wrote the jingle, and it was released about a year before the Stones dropped "Satisfaction."
