A Man’s Tongue Sprouts Green Hair After Years Of Cigarette Use

A smoker from Ohio had an incredibly bizarre reaction to some antibiotics.

The unidentified 64-year-old man was a long time smoker. He reported to his doctor several weeks after his tongue had sprouted hairs and changed color. They assume the green color change and hair growth would be attributed to a reaction from the medication combined with his smoking habit.

Conditions like this are generally caused by poor oral hygiene and can be exacerbated by smoking because it causes bacteria and plaque to gather on the tongue.

Luckily for the Ohio man this ailment is not too painful and can be easily treated. Patients can simply shave the tongue hair off with a toothbrush or tongue scraper. You can check out pictures and more info here.
