In the heart of Las Vegas, where legends are made and records stand for decades, there's an impending shift. For nearly 50 years, the illustrious title of the most performances at the International Hotel, now the Westgate, has been held by none other than Elvis Presley. But the tides of history are about to change.

So Who's Breaking Elvis Presley's Record?

On Sept. 21, Barry Manilow, the celebrated maestro behind timeless hits like "Mandy" and "Copacabana," will step onto that iconic stage for his 637th performance. In doing so, he'll surpass the record set by the King of Rock and Roll himself, Elvis Presley, who held the record at 636 shows, according to the Westgate's website.

Manilow, a legend in his own right, expresses the profound honor of performing on the same stage that Elvis once graced. He remarks to the Westgate, "It's an honor to be on the same stage that the King once graced. That weekend is going to be especially meaningful.”

To mark this historic occasion, Barry Manilow has chosen to give back to the community that has embraced him throughout his illustrious career. The proceeds from his performances on Sept.21, 22, and 23 will be dedicated to a selection of charities that hold a special place in his heart, according to Barry Manilow's X (formerly Twitter) account.

Tickets Are Still Available

This unique opportunity not only allows fans to witness a historic moment but also to contribute to causes that truly matter. Tickets for these memorable shows are available, with prices ranging from $70 to $390.

As the baton passes from one music icon to another, some may wonder if there will ever be a day when Elvis Presley is forgotten. The resounding answer, however, is no.

While records may be broken, Elvis Presley's enduring legacy is destined to endure for generations to come. His music lives on, and his cultural significance remains unassailable. Elvis may have left the building, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of fans worldwide.

Elvis Presley would've turned 88 today (January 8.)

“The King” has been heavily chronicled over the years and yielded some of the most iconic images in music history. To honor Presley, scroll through the gallery below full of classic photos from Presley's incredible career and life.
