A tragic incident unfolded when a dispute between neighbors escalated into a murder of a beloved pastor in front of his children.
On Dec. 19, 36-year-old Joe Junio allegedly shot and killed Grace Point Church pastor Nick Davi, 46. His wife, Sarah Davi, was also shot but survived, according to the Daily Mail.
Sarah filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Junio, who's now facing charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, two charges of child abuse involving a deadly weapon, and discharging of a firearm where a person might be endangered, 8 News Now reports.
The Daily Mail reports that Junio allegedly harassed the family for many weeks, engaging in disturbing activities like "throwing feces on their backyard, flooding their home, and issuing threats after the Davis complained to the gated community's homeowner's association."
Details About The Deadly Shooting That Killed Las Vegas Pastor
According to 8 News Now, North Las Vegas Police went to the 6600 block of Lookout Lodge Lane near Decatur Boulevard and Centennial Parkway on Dec. 29 around 4:20 p.m. after receiving reports of shootings. The alleged suspect shot Las Vegas pastor Nick Davi in the abdomen, and officials pronounced him dead at the hospital. Sarah Davi had non-life-threatening injuries, according to Fox 5. The children were also in the car while the attack unfolded.
One of the children recorded the gruesome attack while they were inside the car. Junio did not have a license or permit to carry a firearm. Fox 5 reports that Junio, "borrowed it from someone."
According to a story about unemployment benefits from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Joe Junio worked as a real estate agent and possibly a taxi driver. Fox 5 also reports the Junio was licensed with the Nevada Real Estate Division.
Nick Davi: Pastor At Grace Point Church
In a GoFundMe for the Davi family, the summary on the webpage says, "At the age of 46, Nick maintained close friendships with his Riverhead High School and Tampa University friends. He touched the lives of countless people in his short time with us. We are all shocked and saddened by this senseless tragedy."
During Davi's memorial service, another pastor at the church Ty Neal said, "There's just things in life that don't make sense. Like I don't know about you all, but I've been trying to have a category in my mind for this situation, and I can't find it."
"This moment is a great reminder that evil is still prevalent and present in this world . . ." Neal said. "These are these moments where we as a family, we do this thing called grieve and lament."

You've seen the stories on the news, maybe you know someone or maybe you're a victim of this trending criminal activity: Catalytic convertors are being stolen at a high rate.
And it seems like in the past five years, a rush of more catalytic convertors have been plucked out of cars and sold as scrap metal. In 2022, catalytic convertor thefts were 540% higher across the country compared to 2020, according to USA Today.
It's a relatively "easy" crime that requires a sly person to slip under a car, to saw off the pollution-controlling device and to ultimately sell off the metal from the converter.
It's a costly item that ranges in the thousands to get replaced, and most insurance doesn't cover theft of catalytic convertors.
Catalytic convertors help clean a car's exhaust and filters out harmful pollution coming from the car's tailpipe.
Precious metals, such as platinum and palladium, are used in the catalytic convertors, which are some-what valuable when sold off as scrap metal. The disrupted supply chain has also increased the prices for these metals. Someone who sells a catalytic convertor and its metals can get anywhere from $50 to $1,000 depending on the quantity and quality of the metal.
But despite this increasing trend of stolen catalytic convertors, there are a few ways to protect your car.
The most common way is to park in a manner where thieves are unable to climb underneath. Keep your car in a garage (if you have one) and avoid street parking if possible. If you must park in the street, or in a public parking lot, then try to stay in a well-lit area near buildings or anywhere that may have a security camera.
Also, a AAA driver once told us to spray paint your catalytic convertor with a bright color like neon orange, bright pink, red, etc. This will deter a possible thief for a few reasons. It's harder to sell a spray-painted catalytic convertor, and the thief may think that the convertor is linked with a specific car, per the AAA worker's recommendation.
