Yes, the door is actually a phone booth. Located at : 5675 W Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89146, this local favorite, dubbed an “institution” by none other than Carrot Top, adds an element of intrigue to your dining experience. The inconspicuous restaurant marries traditional Italian-American cooking. The lasagna is thick and baked to perfection with cheese and sauce. The Gotti’s Chicken Angelo is the perfect dish to compliment a chilly day. Capo’s also has great chef’s specials that change with the season. One time, they also offered a succulent ribeye delicately placed atop a bed of homemade pasta, bathed in a brandy and mushroom cream sauce—a truly divine indulgence.
Story Behind Capo’s Is A True Las Vegas One
Nico Santucci grew up in Italian restaurants in the bustling steel city of Chicago, according to Capo’s website. “. . . Inspired by the mobster era, Nico Santucci created Capo’s, a real “speakeasy” featuring actual Al Capone’s Family Secret sauces on our “made-man” pastas.”
It’s a place that transports you back to comfort with Italian dishes and great ambiance.
Capo’s Restaurant and Speakeasy Featured On Jon Taffer’s Bar Rescue
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Capo’s found themselves in the same boat as many other restaurants. As restaurants were forced to shut down, bills kept piling on without generating revenue. Eventually, Jon Taffer came to the bar and sprinkled renovations during an episode of “Bar Rescue.” Taffer kept the name and the essence of the bar — which is rare that he does.
After the episode aired, Capo’s is still in business! We definitely recommend trying this local-favorite spot. It’s romantic, warm and gives you the perfectly quaint speakeasy vibe that is pure Las Vegas.
