The Rio Becomes ‘Cool’ Again After New LED Light Install
The Las Vegas locals are calling the Rio, “cool” again after people noticed the new LED lights twinkling from the casino.
Social media accounts and Las Vegas-based content creators have posted videos about the Rio Hotel & Casino’s new renovations. Along with the new LED lights, the property also will get a pretty hefty facelift.
Dreamscape Realtor Company Takes Over Rio
Based in New York City, Dreamscape is a real estate company that specializes in redeveloping residential, retail, hospitality, entertainment and gaming properties. Dreamscape acquired the Rio in Dec. 2019 from Caesars Entertainment Corp. for $516.3 million, according to Dreamscape’s website.
New Renovations To Freshen Up The Rio Equal $350 Million
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Dreamscape is in the middle of a $350 millions multiyear redevelopment plan. The reenovations will give a heavy cosmetic facelift and “refresh” to the 2,500 guest rooms, the casino floor, the convention spaces, the pools and more.
Along with the renovations to the inside, there have also been some upgrades on the outside. There’s a new LED marquee on Flamingo Road, new exterior paint and productions-like LED lights.
In fact, the Review-Journal further reported that rock band Phish’s creative director produced the coordination and colors of the LED lights.
Get Hungry For New Food Hall
Along with the fresh remodel that is making the Rio be sparkly and pretty, the new Canteen Food Hall is another amenity that the property added recently.
It’s pretty similar to the mass amount of other food halls in Las Vegas. There’s a sushi place, NYC fried chicken spot, burger joint, a “West-Philly” inspired sub shop, a ramen spot, and Sonoran-style burrito place all nestled in the food hall.
Food halls are a great opportunity to explore new cuisine while also eating in a quick and convenient manner.
Will the Rio finally be cool again? Well, let’s hope that Dreamscape sprinkles some magic into the property, so we can enjoy the Rio for many more years to come.
