Person Attempts To Hurt Themselves Near 215 Overpass
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police took a person into custody after they attempted to hurt themselves in the area of Sunset Road and Roy Horn Way, according to the Office of Public Information for the police department.
The police department received the call around 11:15 a.m., the Office of Public Information said in an email. The location happened around Sunset Road and Roy Horn Way near the 215 southbound area. The person who was attempting to hurt themselves was taken safely into custody. The call was listed as “suicidal subject.”
“LVMPD and NSP (Nevada State Police) are currently out with a subject in the area of Sunset Road and Roy Horn Way who was attempting to hurt himself. The subject has been safely taken into custody. All roads are back open,” The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Office of Public Information said in an email.
The Nevada State Police posted on social media that all eastbound and westbound lanes over the Interstate 215 were closed. The 215 was also closed at Sunset Road due to prior police activity.
“Please use alternate routes. Slow down and stay safe,” the Nevada State Highway Patrol said around 11:56 a.m.
Around 12:41 p.m., the Nevada State Police further said on social media, ” All travel lanes open in area. Slow down, stay safe and be mindful of other drivers.”
