Heads Up, Twenty One Pilots Fans, ‘Clancy’ Is Coming To Vegas In 2024
Twenty One Pilots fans, you are in luck. The Columbus, Ohio band is releasing their new album Clancy on May 17, and they are taking it the road. And when they stop in Vegas, you should be there. Because these guys know how to put on a show.
Twenty One Pilots In Vegas
According to billboard.com, the “Clancy World Tour” is going to be a massive one. With 59 shows in total. And, lucky for us, one of those stops is going to be in Vegas. On August 31, 2024, Twenty One Pilots and all their Heathens will be at MGM Grand Garden Arena. And I know for one, I will be one of those Heathens. Because Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun are incredible.
And they know how to tell a story too. I wasn’t a fan of Twenty One Pilots, until I saw them in a show in Vegas. I thought “oh let me just check these dudes out, because I’m always down for a good train wreck.” Well, they were anything but.
In fact, I was floored and impressed by what an incredibly well-oiled machine they were. Two dudes, just two dudes making all that noise. And it’s not just the music that is impressive. Their creative story telling is also above and beyond the normal. Twenty One Pilots’ new album Clancy is an example of that. It’s not just a bunch of lyrics with no meaning. These songs all tell the story of Clancy, a character that the duo has been building since roughly 2015, according to themarysue.com.
The Story Of Twenty One Pilots’ Clancy
The story actually began nine years ago with the band’s 2015 album, “Blurryface.”According to hypercritic.org, Blurryface is Tyler Joseph’s alter-ego. A “personification of his concerns and deep insecurities.” This alter ego, per hypercritic.org, helps Joseph “better understand his dark side and how to deal with it.” The entire “Blurryface” album was dedicated to telling the story of this alter-ego. The hit “Stressed Out” is about longing for a time when those inner demons didn’t exist. The song was the first time the band referenced Blurryface by name. Which they did directly in the lyrics “my name’s Blurryface and I care what you think.”
The Clancy character arrived a few years later. When Twenty One Pilots fans discovered a hidden website on the Twenty One Pilots main website. Immediately the questions began. Who is Clancy? This hidden site is kind of out there. With photocopies of sketches and letters written and signed by Clancy. Check it out.

Well now, we may be on the verge of truly finding out who Clancy is. The band recently released a video addressing the question.
As the album cycle progresses and the songs come out, hopefully we will get a full understanding of exactly who this mysterious Clancy is. And if the rest of Clancy, the album, is anything like the first single “Overcompensate”, I for one am very excited to listen to this story.
Twenty One Pilots tickets are on sale now, and they start around $90 on ticketmaster. See you at the concert, Heathens.
