Dirt Dog Hosts Bluey Event: Failed So Bad, Doing Red
A Las Vegas-based restaurant, Dirt Dog, recently went viral after hosting a “Bluey” event that left many in shock.
According to Today.com, Dirt Dog hosted a family day on May 11. The restaurant’s event listing said there would be face painting, treats and a meet-and-greet with Bluey. This eatery is known for their gourmet hot dogs and other comfort food offerings.
The Backstory Of Infamous First ‘Bluey Event’ At Dirt Dog
Bluey is a popular children’s cartoon that features a talking blue dog that’s animated. According to the event’s Facebook page, many parents were left underwhelmed.
One comment reads, “Temu Bluey costume and decorations from Dollar Tree featured at Dirt Dog Las Vegas Rainbow! Thanks for ruining my 3 year olds day!” and another one reads, “Total waste of time!! If you want to attract people to your establishment don’t false advertise. Bluey was a guy in a onesie. Long lines for nothing. Kids were super upset and so are the parents.”
Angry parents poured the event page with comments about their disappointment about the event and their shock that the “Bluey” character was a man dressed in a “Bluey” onesie.
The event went viral on social media. Possibly, the comedic comments and the Bluey onesie contributed to this story’s virality.
The hot dog joint posted an apology on social media. “We are truly sorry this event wasn’t the expected experience!”
The post then reads that Dirt Dog takes pride in community events, and they were overwhelmed with the event’s turn out. They further said that Dirt Dog will continue to improve their events in the future.
“We hope to repair our relationship with all of you,” the end of the post reads.
Dirt Dog Hosts Redo “Bluey” Event After Initial Failure
According to an update by Fox 5, Dirt Dog will actually host another “Bluey Day” event. But this time, parents can expect the “real” Bluey.
The event is June 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the location on 8390 S Rainbow Blvd #100, Las Vegas, NV 89139.
We definitely look forward to attending this redo event! Although the first event was slightly comedic, we can forgive local businesses who are simply putting on free events for the community to enjoy.
