Foo Fighters Joined by Geezer Butler During Birmingham Show

Foo Fighters were joined by a special hometown guest during their June 27 gig in Birmingham, England: Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler.

Butler and the Foos performed a rousing cover of the Black Sabbath classic "Paranoid" for the packed crowd inside Villa Park Stadium. Dave Grohl, of course, provided vocals and did a couple of impressions of Ozzy Osbourne that included some of his mannerisms to pump up the crowd and a shout of "Let me see your f---ing hands!" between verses.

The Foos often have special guests stop by during their shows, regardless of which country they're in. A prime example happened in January when Jack Black made a surprise appearance during the band's show in Auckland, New Zealand.

In the video below, Dave Grohl says, "So, here's the deal: I'm not singing this one." Cut to Black skipping onto the stage to a cheer from the crowd to take on the vocals of the cheeky Bon Scott track.

Classic Rock notes that Jables happened to be in New Zealand when the Foo rolled through on tour, because he was filming the Minecraft movie. Gotta love when the stars align like that.

The Foos are keeping themselves very busy this summer with a mix of festival and headlining tour dates. In June, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band will head to the U.K. for a series of shows, followed by festival sets in Europe.

Then, the Foos will return to the United States for a stadium tour beginning on July 17 at Citi Field in New York. A full list of the band's upcoming tour dates is below.

As Dave Grohl himself screamed, he's the "King of Second Chances." Few artists have had as great of a second act as he has.

He came to fame as the beloved powerhouse drummer of Nirvana, but after the band dissolved, who could have predicted that he'd become one of the most enduring singer/songwriters in rock music for decades to come?
