Las Vegas Streets Hit With Closures Through December as F1 Track Comes Down
Major streets across Las Vegas will remain closed until December 27, 2024, as crews tear down Formula 1 racing structures. The cleanup began immediately after the Las Vegas Grand Prix wrapped up.
- A key closure affects Koval Lane at Rochelle Avenue. The road will shut down from 9 p.m. on December 23 to 6 a.m. on December 24. Workers need this time to take down the Rochelle Pedestrian Bridge.
- Along Harmon Avenue, traffic lanes will reduce to one way in each direction every night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through December 13 as teams remove the track lighting that illuminated the race.
- Audrie Street will be off-limits between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. to remove the vehicular bridge. Traffic flaggers will direct drivers during these hours.
- Near the Bellagio Hotel, two lanes on the southbound Strip from Flamingo Road to Bellagio Drive remain blocked through December 27. Hotel visitors can still get in and out while the giant Bellagio Fountain Club comes down.
- Bus routes will temporarily detour from December 15 to 21. Three routes change: Route 119 (Simmons/Koval), Route 202 (Flamingo), and CX (Centennial Express).
- Starting December 9, the walkways over the Strip, including Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Boulevard, will close from midnight to 9 a.m.
Local businesses will stay open throughout the work despite limited pedestrian access. Signs will help people find their way to popular spots like The Westin Las Vegas and Jay’s Market. F1 officials project cleanup completion before Christmas.
