The colorful advertisement for the show that's spread out on The Mirage's top portion of the building will soon be peeled off. The website for The Beatles LOVE show says the last performance will be on July 6. Although the show was originally going to close on July 7, Ringo Starr's birthday, an earlier press release from Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group stated.
The show will go dark due to The Mirage rebranding itself as the Hard Rock Las Vegas. USA Today reported that rumors of the show closing started about two summers ago, "when MGM Resorts International offloaded The Mirage – home to the show and its $100 million custom-built, sonically superior 2,013-seat theater – to Hard Rock International."
The show opened the curtains on June 30, 2006, Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group's website states.
"LOVE is a Rock 'n' Roll poem, a magical mystery tour into the heart and soul of The Beatles music through an exploration of the aesthetic, political and spiritual trends of the 1960s," the LOVE website says.
