Disney is giving us a first look Brandy's long-awaited return. The singer is reprising her role as Cinderella in Disney+'s Descendants: Rise of Red. However, Brandy is not the only star reprising their role. Disney+ confirmed, per Variety, that Paolo Montalban, who played Brandy’s Prince Charming in the 1997 movie, will also be returning. Years after their enchanted romance, Charming is now king and will reign beside his queen Cinderella.

Singer Rita Ora will also be starring in the film as Queen of Hearts. Descendants: Rise of Red has also cast China Anne McClain as Uma, daughter of The Little Mermaid Ursula; Morgan Dudley as Ella, the younger version of Cinderella; and Melanie Paxson as the Fairy Godmother, among others.

In 2021, Brandy sat down with Variety about its impact on the culture. "I feel like it opened doors," Brandy said. She credited the late Whitney Houston, who was a producer and starred in the 1997 film as well as producers Debra Martin Chase, Craig Zadan, and Neil Meron with casting her in the role. "It’s because of them that I was able to be that person to help open the doors for so many other young artists that want to do things that they probably think are impossible."

Disney+ has yet to announce a release date for em>Descendants: Rise of Red. Take a look at the first look below:
