Charming Las Vegas Orchard is a Perfect Fall Stop

Fall is upon us, and if you're someone who frequents the Las Vegas strip, you might not be aware that you can find a charming Las Vegas orchard where you can find pumpkins and fresh produce very close to Vegas. When people think about farms and pumpkin patches, they might not think about Las Vegas, but one charming Las Vegas orchard is very close to the city and definitely makes for a perfect fall stop. One of my favorite fall activities is visiting farms and pumpkin patches, so I'm super happy this place is close to the city.

Gilcrease Orchard is a popular Las Vegas spot where you can actually hand-pick the fresh seasonal produce. Gilcrease is located in the far northwest Las Vegas Valley, so not far from the heart of Las Vegas. This 60-acre farm has a bounty of "u pick" options for people who visit.

Now, this Las Vegas orchard has announced that they'll open for the fall harvest starting Tuesday, September 24, and stay open through Thursday, Oct. 31. They'll be open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. According to Gilcrease, activities this year include a pumpkin patch, wagon rides, apple cider doughnuts, a corn maze and more. I think all of those activities sound super fun. Please take me. Tickets are required to get in and available online.

On their webstie, Gilcrease explains how the farm came about, stating, "This was Ted and Bill’s dream, that the Gilcrease Orchard would be a place where families could bring their children and enjoy a sampling of the kind of life the brothers knew. They wanted to preserve this unique gem where the community can pick food fresh off the tree or vine and see, feel, and taste the difference."

They add, "Through their non-profit foundation, they aimed to provide recreational and educational experiences that teach children where our food comes from and how it is grown, helping to foster an appreciation for the earth’s bounty and a healthy lifestyle."

Gilcrease Orchard is located at 7800 North Tenaya Way, Las Vegas. The farm is also available for special bookings, such as field trips and photoshoots.
