Belinda Carlisle took to Twitter to share her support for Pride Month and her gay son, Duke.

The Go-Go's singer wrote, "It's an honor to be able to share some words with you as we celebrate Pride Month this year. It's an incredibly personal time for me, seeing as I have a gay son who is also a very vocal activist."

She continued, "I remember vividly what it was like in the early days of his coming out: I could see in his eyes how uncertain he was about the reaction he might get from me as well as the rest of his family and friends. Of course, my husband and I accepted him with open arms, as did his friends, but so many others go through a different and far less positive experience."

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer concluded, "Pride is about showing the LGBTQ community that they have nothing to worry about -- that everything is going to be okay. There's a lot of love out there, and that's why we celebrate each and every June. I've always been incredibly proud of my LGBTQ following, and I will always be there to stand up for you."

Some of the most influential artists in classic rock/classic hits are members of the LGBTQ community. While these artists deserve celebration year-round, take a moment this June during Pride Month to honor these 13 remarkable LGBTQ artists for their contributions to music.
