The Eagles went the distance, and now it's time for their "Long Goodbye."

The legendary band has announced their farewell tour, which they share in a statement is "currently in the planning stages." They will be rolling out dates and venues once they are confirmed. So far, only 13 dates have been announced, which are listed below, but fans should expect plenty more. Steely Dan will provide support on these dates.

The Eagles said to their fans, " ... We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on."

BY THE NUMBERS: The Eagles’ ‘Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)’

The Eagles changed the game on February 17, 1976 with Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975).

Meant as a way to boost record label revenue while the band was making Hotel California, Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) was a monster. The collection has a unique place in music history. In fact, it was the first release to be Platinum certified (1 million copies sold) by the RIAA.

Of course, this set would go on to sell far more than 1 million copies. In honor of its release anniversary, here is Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) by the numbers.
