‘Best’ British Pub In Las Vegas Closes Flagship Location After 30 Years In Service
A British Pub in Vegas has closed down after catering to Las Vegas locals for about 30 years.
Crown & Anchor British Pub on Tropicana Avenue has closed the flagship location, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal. A piece of paper that reads, “We have closed this location. Please visit the other pub at Spring Moutain and Decatur at 4755 Spring Moutian Road.”
The pub’s social media accounts haven’t posted about the closing. But the other location is still in service. The Las Vegas Review-Journal also reports that requests for comment from “Crown & Anchor on the sudden closure of the Tropicana location were not immediately returned.”

Las Vegas Locally, a Las Vegas-centered social media account, posted a video of the closed pub. The caption reads, “Crown & Anchor on Tropicana — arguably the best British pub in Las Vegas — has suddenly closed after nearly three decades. ”
Comments on the pub’s page and other social media postings express sadness about the location’s closing. One social media user even commented about having a birthday at the Tropicana pub location.
“I’ll miss my late night dart tournaments at the Crown & Anchor Pub Las Vegas,” the user said.
The pub opened in 1995, according to Crown & Anchor Pub’s Facebook page.
“Our Crown & Anchor Pub history is a bit like a favorite book — filled with chapters of tradition, delicious food, and memories,” Crown & Anchor said on Facebook.
The Spring Mountain location is still active. It’s also been dubbed as “little crown” by Las Vegas locals. It’s smaller than the Tropicana location, but the British pub energy is still felt throughout the bar.
Highlights on the menu include fish & chips (some say are the best in town), traditional British peas, Yorkshire pudding, and the British pies.
