I Tried All The Crumbl Cookie Specials So You Don’t Have To
Currently, the menu at Crumbl Cookie special flavors that are widely available include a nice mix of classics and outrageous creative blends. Fresh out of their signature pink box, I recently had the opportunity to try each one of these cookie masterpieces. Here, I will grade and asses each one of them.
“Our menu rotates to give you six deliciously gourmet flavors to experience,” Crumbl Cookie explains. Of course, you will find some basics regarding the cookie base, with the sugar cookies, chocolate, or chocolate chip. However, what’s atop the cookie is colorful and super-sweet.
Let’s just bite right into it, one at a time in the order that I tried each flavor.
Your Definitive Crumbl Cookie Special Flavor Review
To lay the groundwork, I cut off a piece of each cookie that was equivalent to the size of one large bite. There was one of each flavor in my box. There was only one cookie that I went back to for a second taste. Each rating is on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best score possible.
French Toast
Crumbl did a great job baking this special to look exactly like a slice of French toast. Everything from the bread shaped cookie base to the frosting in the butter design. I wanted this to be the winner of the bunch, but unfortunately, it looked better than it tasted. There just wasn’t much taste. I rate the French toast cookie a 5.6
Peanut Butter Cookies and Cream
The chocolate and peanut butter mixed well and balanced each other out. The cookie and cream crunch are certainly there, but you have to look for it. As is the case with many chocolate cookies, the chocolate flavor really dominates this show. The Peanut Butter Cookies and Cream gets a 6.2.
Pistachio Gelato
I wonder how long it takes to properly make this cookie. It is so well designed that each one must be handcrafted. The mini waffle cone looked too nice to eat. Unfortunately for this cookie, I don’t like pistachio-flavored anything, so the filling was not to my liking. I rate the Pistachio Gelato a 5.9.
Wedding Cake
This was the most distinct taste of the half-dozen. The raspberry cream filling has a zing to it that resulted in a “Wow, I didn’t see that coming” reaction. The challenge here is that that vanilla bean sugar cookie is the best taste of this special. That also is what carries this score. The Wedding Cake rating is a 7.9.
Sea Salt Toffee
With toffee, milk chocolate chips, and sea salt, this was the sweetest of all. You can almost see the sugar melt into the box underneath this cookie. Toffee seems to be an area that Crumbl has mastered. It’s just a good fit that makes sense in many of their specialties. I am a fan of each of these flavors in a dessert. Especially sea salt. This was just a lot to handle, and I felt satisfied after one bite. I will rate this a decent 6.5.
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk
Sometimes, keeping it simple is the best way to go. There are few things better than a delicious chocolate chip cookie. This is always soft and filled with chocolate chunks. With all the extravagant designs, colors, and sugary desserts that are stuffed into the shape of a cookie, the simple chocolate chip is the gold medal piece. It’s a solid 8.8.
