Lindsey Buckingham celebrates his birthday today (October 3). While his entire body of work should be celebrated, one song he wrote in particular often sticks out. Years after its release, it remains one of the best breakup songs ever.

That got us thinking about all of the other incredible breakup songs in the classic rock genre. (Spoiler: There are A LOT.) Somehow, we’ve narrowed down our favorites to a tight eight-track playlist.
