Steve Miller Band Replacing Steely Dan on Eagles Farewell Tour for Select Show
Eagles will see a temporary shakeup on their Long Goodbye farewell tour for the next few shows.
Per Ultimate Classic Rock, the Steve Miller Band will be filling in for opening act Steely Dan on the upcoming dates:
-10/10, Indianapolis
-10/13, Detroit
-10/17, Cleveland
Illness has been cited as the reason for the opening act shakeup, but the extent of the illness is currently unknown to the public. However, it has been noted that Steely Dan’s absence will be temporary.
The Steve Miller Band stepped in as the supporting act last night (October 9) at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Ultimate Classic Rock notes the last show Steely Dan opened for the Eagles on their farewell tour was on September 20 in Elmont, New York. Since then, Sheryl Crow filled in as the opener on October 5 and 6 in Denver. Meanwhile, the October 15 show in Pittsburgh will see Vince Gill fill in as the opening act before returning to the stage with the Eagles.
The Eagles announced their farewell tour in July. At the time, they confirmed the tour is “currently in the planning stages” and will be rolling out dates and venues once they are confirmed.
The Eagles said to their fans, ” … We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”
