Motley Crue Cancel Their NYE Show, Issues Statement
Motley Crue is backing out of a New Year’s Eve show that was set for Palm Springs.
The band confirmed the news in a statement, saying, “It is with deep regret we must inform you the Crüe Year’s Eve show in Palm Springs is being canceled. The very short time frame to produce the event resulted in issues beyond our control. We look forward to seeing you all in 2024!”
The Crue currently has a handful of shows scheduled for 2024, including some festival dates. Among them are Welcome to Rockville in May, Summerfest in June and Ottawa Bluesfest in July. However, don’t be surprised if more dates are announced in the near future. Nikki Sixx said back in March that there's plenty of touring in the Crue's future. He said in an interview, “I said [to the band], ‘Why don’t we just keep going? Let’s just take it to 50 [years since the band’s inception, which will be in 2031].'”
New Music from the Crue in 2024
In addition to potentially more shows, fans can expect new music from Motley Crue in 2024. Sixx confirmed this via X (formerly Twitter) writing, “Yes @MotleyCrue will be releasing new music in 2024 and separately yes I am working with @RobMinkoff developing a new music related animation project. Good times ahead.”

Talk of new music began in April. Sixx shared on X a photo of himself, Tommy Lee and touring guitarist John 5 jamming. He captioned it, “Another killer songwriting day w/Tommy Lee and John 5.” The bassist followed that up with another tweet saying, “We are writing. The creative process of songwriting has always been the heartbeat of our band. We’re gonna go in the big studio next week and record a few off the floor and see where it goes. We don’t have a definitive plan at this point. Just letting the songs guide us.”
