Jon Bon Jovi MusiCares Person of the Year Gala: Setlist
Jon Bon Jovi was honored over the weekend at the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala in truly epic fashion.
The Bon Jovi frontman was honored for his years of charitable work in his community by MusiCares, the philanthropic arm of the Recording Academy, which organizes the Grammy Awards. The event was hosted by comedian Jim Gaffigan, who at one point, cosplayed as JBJ in the ’80s.
Gaffigan was decked out in a wild wig, a Jack Daniel’s shirt and cutoff jean shorts. It’s the same outfit worn by the singer in a poster projected onto a large screen on stage.
Gaffigan dryly says, “Jon, be honest: Does it feel like you’re looking in a mirror? A little bit? By the way, these are the actual shorts from that poster. I bought them at a MusiCares auction. Five bucks! I had to get them taken in, but it’s for charity.”
The night was packed with a ton of performances, including from Bon Jovi, who debuted a new song titled “Legendary.” Per Billboard, the track is from an upcoming album, and it “sounds like a classic Bon Jovi track.”
As for the rest of setlist, a diverse group of artists took to the stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center to perform some of Bon Jovi’s biggest hits. The only performer to play a song that wasn’t a Bon Jovi song was Bruce Springsteen. The Boss and Bon Jovi performed two tracks together: “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” and Springsteen’s “The Promised Land.”
