Dave Grohl Shares He’s Fathered a Child Outside of His Marriage
Dave Grohl issued a statement via Instagram about fathering a child outside of his marriage to wife of over 20 years Jordyn Blum.
Grohl wrote, “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
He continued, “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
Grohl concluded, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
No details were shared about the identity of the baby’s mother.
Dave and Jordyn were married on August 2, 2003. They have three daughters: Violet (born in 2006), Harper (born in 2009) and Ophelia (born in 2014). He was previously married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 to 1997. Per The Guardian, Dave’s “admitted infidelities” led to their divorce.
Jordyn has joined Dave on the red carpet at various high-profile events. In July, Dave accompanied Jordyn to Wimbledon where they sat in the Royal Box. The moment garnered headlines because Dave was wearing a suit and tie, which is the required dress code for men seated in the Royal Box.
GQ noted, “It’s unclear if the frontman is a big tennis fan, but Blum’s—who also dressed for the occasion in a collared blue Gucci dress and dark shades—forearm tattoo of crossed tennis rackets could give us a clue for the couple’s afternoon outing.”
The idea that Grohl attended Wimbledon for his wife was seemingly reinforced when a BBC reporter asked him for his prediction for the event. Grohl said, “What? What? No clue. Couldn’t say.”
“Dave Grohl” quickly became the top trend on X (formerly Twitter) following the Foo Fighters frontman issuing his statement. Many fans expressed disappointment in the news. One wrote, “As a longtime Foo Fighters fan, I’m gonna need 3-5 business days to recover from this Dave Grohl being a cheater news.” Another wrote, “Dave Grohl WTF. Can we have a SINGLE decent man on this planet? Time to quit the bi thing and live as a lesbian. There really is no hope.”
