Tool Announces Their Own Festival for 2025
Tool has announced they are hosting their own festival in 2025 taking place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Booked for March 7-9, the lineup for the festival will include two sets from Tool and performances from Primus, Mastodon, Coheed and Cambria, Eagles of Death Metal, King’s X, Fishbone, Wheel, CKY, Moon Walker, and special guests Alex Grey and Allyson Grey.
There are two resort options for the Tool festival: the Hard Rock Punta Cana and the Royalton. The festival’s main stage will be directly on the beach outside of the Hard Rock Punta Cana.
The band says in a statement, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to share the news that Primus, Mastodon, and Coheed and Cambria will be joining us for our first-ever Caribbean performance at ‘Tool in the Sand.’ 2025 is shaping up nicely, see you all there for what should be an unforgettable weekend of music!”
In addition to the festival itself, the Hard Rock & Royalton Resorts are offering a variety of on-site and off-site excursions including catamaran expeditions, snorkeling, rappelling and more.
Packages for the Tool festival go on sale on October 30 at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST. However, as would be expected, this whole experience isn’t cheap, but the packages include your room, all-inclusive food and drinks, all music events, and transportation to and from the airport.
For example, a Deluxe Suite with a king and sofa bed at the Hard Rock can accommodate up to three guests. That package costs $5,975 for one person occupying the room, $2,988 for two people, and $2,492 for three people. There’s a package price breakdown for all resort properties at ToolInTheSand.com. From the looks of it, you’ll be able to get a more affordable deal if you book with a group of either three or four people. So, if you and a small group of friends are diehard Tool fans have the money, and have been wanting to take a vacation together, this festival was seemingly created for you.
Of course, many fans were not happy about the prices of this festival experience, and they let their feelings be known in the comment section. One fan wrote in the comment section on Facebook, “Starting to feel pretty far from the gist of Aenema and Lateralus – or are you guys reserving like half the tickets for working Dominicans at prices they can afford? Seriously, this feels like next step is Vegas residence. I dunno man, is it just me or does Tool doing this feel really off?” Another fan wrote, “Look at this pricing lol… Is there a band that hates their fans more than Tool?” Meanwhile, another fan wrote, “I’m gonna pass on a 5000 dollar chance to see the same setlist they’ve been playing since 2019.”
