Worrying about what others think of you can be a burden. Imagine how much more terrifying it can be when you're famous. Recently, Kate Hudson reflected on how when her career as an actress took off, she couldn't handle so much media attention.

While talking to Kelly Ripa in a new interview yesterday (March 29), Hudson, 43, says, "When I got really famous, there [were] so many lies. It was so weird because in my mind it felt so unjust -- like this is unfair." If you don't already know, Hudson is the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson.

No Escaping The Media

Said the Glass Onion actress, "They were so mean to women. I mean, the body-shaming from being too skinny to too fat to then going up your skirt and the cellulite." Hudson added that her celebrity status also took its toll on her love life. She couldn't speak to a man without being linked to him. Kate was afraid of sitting and saying "hello" to someone. She told Ripa how overwhelmed she felt. "I couldn't in any way comprehend that I just realized I need to figure out how to not care about any of this."

After having this revelation, the Almost Famous star refused to let it affect her any longer. "It was so negative," she said. "You just realize that you're letting them win the more you feel bad. If I'm going to allow this negative energy to get into me, then they win. I've given them all my power."

Taking to her TikTok followers a few weeks ago, Hudson decided to take a dive into her old Oscars looks throughout the years. While being nominated for Almost Famous in 2001, the star said she got "trashed" for wearing her dress. "I got on every 'worst dressed' list," Hudson says in the clip. Looking back to the Stella McCartney dress now, Hudson says the dress is "awesome. I love it. I feel like we have to take this narrative back."
