Kanye West celebrated his 46th birthday over the weekend. His party featured naked models with sushi on top of them. While this might seem weird to some, Ye took on the Japanese practice of Nyotaimori, which is when you eat sushi, or sashimi, off of a naked woman. The tradition has been around for centuries but has come under fire in recent years by activists.

The event appeared to have occurred in an empty Los Angeles warehouse over the weekend. Kanye's wife Bianca Censori, and his nine-year-old daughter North West, among other celebrities were in attendance. Chloe Bailey, Ty Dolla $ign, and Freddie Gibbs were photographed celebrating the artist.

Some fans found discomfort knowing North was at the party where naked women were around. They compared it to Kanye's reaction to when she was seen doing TikTok videos previously. "So kanye flipped when kim let north do a dance on tiktok but he’s okay with having her come to his birthday where they’re serving sushi off a naked woman?" one person asked.

"Now why Kanye got North at this birthday party with this naked lady lying on a table of sushi," another fan asked.

However, it seems like she and Censori were bonding as the two were photographed holding hands and walking into the event.

North was also seen with Censori on top of a rooftop filming Kanye. The rapper is seemingly filming a music video to his "Off The Grid" record from his album Donda. The 2021 project was nominated for Best Rap Album and Album of the Year. "Hurricane" featuring The Weeknd and "Jail" featuring Jay-Z earned a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance and Best Rap Song, respectively, at the 2022 award show.

This follows the leak of Kanye's DONDA documentary online. The film follows the artist as he makes his Grammy-winning album and addresses his relationship with his late mother, Donda West.

There's no word on when or if the DONDA documentary will be released.
