A Couple That Married On ZOOM And Never Met Officially Has Marriage Annulled
This should come as no surprise. A couple that married each other online and never met decided to call it quits.
According to this report, during the COVID lockdown, Ayse Reeves met Darrin Martin over Facebook.
The couple found enough of a bond online that she even tried traveling to the U.S. from Britain to visit him in 2020 but was turned away by immigration. Still, Martin was fond enough over Reeves to propose to her almost a year later.

In Utah, there’s a place that can legally marry couples over Zoom, so that’s what they did…making their union official in August of 2021. Sadly, it only took a couple of months for the dream of wedded bliss to end, and Reeves filed for an annulment three months later.
At long last, the annulment was finally granted over a year-and-a-half later…and Reeves said it’s a weight that’s been lifted off her shoulders because the marriage never felt like it was “real”…because they’d never actually met in person. Go figure.
