Officials Recover Missing Child, Arrest 38 People In Las Vegas: Operation Washout
Law enforcement authorities recovered a missing child and arrested 38 people — for crimes ranging from aggravated assault, child neglect, assault of child, drug offenses and more — during a 10-day operation targeting violent offenders in Las Vegas, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The U.S. Marshals Service said that the 10-day operation is called Operation Washout. The Nevada’s Violent Offender Task Force worked in four teams throughout the valley to target offenders.

According to reporting from Channel 3 (KSNV-TV), authorities arrested 14 people for aggravated assault, two for burglary, one for robbery, six for drug charges, seven for firearm offenses and 13 for sex offenses.
The operation went from July 10 through July 19, further reporting states.
U.S. Marshals and law enforcement further said on X (formerly Twitter) that officials recovered a missing child. However, details about the backstory and the child’s details, such as age, were limited.
Some of the publicized arrests include Eric Martinez, who was wanted for sexual assault of a child under 14 (times five), sexual assault of a child under 16, and lewdness with a child under 14, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Another arrest was of Ricardo Castellon-Gonzalez, who was wanted for lewdness with a child under 14 (four counts).
Police arrested Anthony Ayala for sexual assault, coercion constituting domestic violence, battery constituting domestic violence (strangulation), and battery with Intent to commit sexual assault, Channel 3 reports. Officials also arrested Christopher Woods, who was wanted for lewdness with a child under 16, child abuse, neglect or endangerment and use of a minor in producing p*ornography.
Police arrested a plethora of other people for other charges like kidnapping, possession of a firearm, fraud, possession of a controlled substance and many sex crimes.
“Crimes such as aggravated assault, child neglect, assault of child, among others. From preparation to the arrests in 120° heat, nothing is easy about this job,” The U.S. Marshals Service said on X.
