What Would Guns N’ Roses Sound Like As A ’50s Band?
Have you ever wondered what Guns N’ Roses would sound like as a ’50s band? Well, wonder no more!
You can now hear what they would sound like if they dominated the ’50s instead of the ’80s. It’s a much different sound but somehow it works. Or does it? Well, let’s just be thankful they formed as a band when they did because I think we can all agree that ended up working for them. The person behind it is the same one who made the Led Zeppelin as a ’50s band demo that we shared on Dave & Chuck The Freak last month. Just like this one, somehow that worked better than you would typically expect. Can you say the same thing about this one? Check it out for yourself below. It starts with the classic, “Welcome To The Jungle.” Do you like it better as the original or in the form of the 1950s?

The video was shared by @marceve76 on YouTube and has more than 381K views after being shared 3 weeks ago. They do the entire Appetite For Destruction album by Guns N’ Roses in ’50s style and it’s very different than the version you have come to know and love, right?
The track listing goes:
- Welcome To The Jungle
- It’s So Easy
- Nightrain
- Out Ta Get Me
- Mr. Brownstone
- Paradise City
- My Michelle
- Think About You
- Sweet Child O’ Mine
- You’re Crazy
- Anything Goes
- Rocket Queen
It’s easy to forget how many jams and hits were on that album! It’s almost like one after another with no skips. At least on the original album, of course. Here, the bit might run old after the first couple of minutes, but it’s still appreciated nonetheless. It’s a cool idea and a fun thing to test out and experiment with. Would I listen to this in my free time? No, I certainly wouldn’t. But that’s not to say it isn’t good or creative at least. It’s cool to see how some of your favorite rock bands from various generations would sound in the popular sound of other decades. Sometimes it’s cool and works, other times it’s a miss. But that’s music. Is there one you would like to see this artist take on? The Red Hot Chili Peppers as a ’50s band would be cool to hear. I can see them trying this bit with Metallica as well. There are so many great albums to pick from, one would probably work decent sounding like it’s from the ’50s. Again, let’s just be thankful we got all of our favorite bands when we did.
