Details About The Cher Show At The Smith Center
The Cher Show opened on Broadway in 2018 and quickly became a Cher fan favorite. The musical follows Cher throughout her legendary career, covering six decades of her life. Including her rough childhood, her transition to stage and screen, and the many awards she has won for her music. The show highlights her musical career by using Cher’s 35 musical hits as the soundtrack.
In Cher’s sixty years of stardom, the world has seen the star go through multiple phases of her look. The Cher Show brilliantly represents this with the unique casting choice of three different actresses for three different stages of Cher’s career. Micaela Diamond plays the youngest version of Cher, guiding the audience throughout the star’s childhood. Teal Wicks takes over as Cher during the 60’s and 70’s and through her rise to fame with Sonny Bono. And Stephanie J. Block gives an amazing portrayal of the most modern incarnation of Cher, complete with the voice that could sometimes be mistaken for the star herself.
Besides stellar performances and a night of storytelling, guests will also be treated to one of the things Cher was known for most. A parade of Bob Mackey inspired costumes that might just make the Smith Center sparkle brighter than the Strip on New Year’s Eve.
The Cher Show opens at The Smith Center on Tuesday, September 17 with performances on select dates through Sunday, September 22. Although children 5 years and older can attend performances at the Smith Center, the content of the Cher Show is more appropriate for those 12 and over. Tickets, which start at $35 for weeknight showings, are available for matinee and evening performances.
