The world lost a great talent this year. When beloved Friends actor Matthew Perry died in late October.

Matthew Perry was only 54 years old when he died. Found unresponsive in a hot tub in his home near Los Angeles, on October 28, 2023. People reported that he died before first responders could get to him. Cause of death at the time was an apparent drowning. Later updated to "acute effects of ketamine", cbsnews.com reported.

Perry had struggled with drug and alcohol abuse nearly his whole life. He had endured pancreatitis, an exploded colon, a 2-month coma and more due to his addictions, addictioncenter.com reported. But throughout his own struggles, Perry always devoted himself to helping others. Including turning his own Malibu beach home into a sober living home for men around 2015.

And even throughout his own battle with addiction, Perry helped the world smile through his acting. Most notably as Chandler Bing on Friends. A character quite befitting his real personality. In fact, some of Chandler's most famous lines weren't scripted. They were Perry's natural humor improvised in the moment. He did it so often that he was lovingly dubbed the King of Improv on the popular sitcom.

Matthew Perry brought magic to a lot of movies as well.

He made us swoon in Fools Rush In. Gave us all the bad vibes in She's Out Of Control. And cracked us up in The Whole Nine Yards movies. He was truly a talented man, who the world loved for his ability to make people smile. And who the world adored and cherished for the fact that he did it all through years of his own pain.

He will be dearly missed. By his friends and his fans. Here's a collection of photos that embody the man we could always count on for a laugh. - Wendy Rush

Rest In Peace, Matthew. Thanks for the laughs.
