New Music For Rock Alternative Fans In 2024
Well, we are halfway through 2024. And so far, it’s been a good year of new music for rock alternative fans.
Rock Alternative Fans Have Been Feasting On New Music In 2024
Pop-punk legends Green Day released “Saviors,” in January, and it has been possibly the best Green I’ve heard in years. And apparently, there’s a good reason for this. According to Grammy.com the new Green Day is a look into Green Day’s brain and their collective spirit as a band. It also feels as if they put the last 30 years of their career into his album.
The Black Keys just recently released “Ohio Players.” The album, according Cleveland Magazine, is reflective of the band’s DJ days.
“It’s a big Saturday night party record,” the article states. The album features “On The Game,” a song written by Liam Gallagher of Oasis.
Other new music for rock alternative fans include, 21 Pilots’ “Clancy,” finally addressing the character the band has been touting for years.
Grunge pioneers Pearl Jam released “Dark Matter,“ recently as well. They have been true to their “jam band,” ways by changing their setlist every single night
But what else is on the horizon that we care about?

Well, turns out, a few things.
For instance, Korn. The Bakersfield, California band has been working on heir first album since 2022 “Requiem.” According to Louder Sound, Brian Head Welch told the publication that “I think it’s the best and heaviest Korn stuff in years. And I think it’s going to be raw and more basic, as far as sound, recording and everything.” The band plans on touring before they release, so hopefully the album comes out for the holidays.
Deftones are also hard at work on a new album. In fact, according to Metal Injection, the album is finished — outside of Chino Moreno’s vocals. So how long will that take? Well according to Chino, he’s in no rush. “I hate to put a definite kind of timeframe, cause we’re not really in a rush. We want it to be great. I think that’s most important.“
Chevelle is also hard at work in the studio. According to THEPRP, a nu-metal and rock publication, “Chevelle has laid down 10 tracks, but just like Deftones, the band doesn’t want to put a timeframe on the release. Pete Loeffler said recently on the podcast “Artist Friendly With Joe Madden,” It’s hard to say when it’ll be released. It’s kind of stewing right now.
The new Falling In Reverse, on the other hand, does have a date. “Popular Monster,” is slated for release on July 26. And it’s loaded with a ton of familiar songs that FIR only released as singles in the past. Like, “Voices in my Head” “Zombified,” “Watch the World Burn,” and the title track “Popular Monster.” There’s also new music like the song tearing up the airwaves right now, which is “All My Life,” featuring Jellyroll.
By the looks and sounds of it, 2024 is shaping up to be one of the best.
