The Five Most Important Chevelle Songs Ever.
Word came out this past March that a new Chevelle album was almost done. This is exciting news for fans of the band, but so far, there’s no new album out. And there’s no word on when exactly the new Chevelle songs will hit our ears.
According to Blabbermouth, the band didn’t have a definitive timeline. Just that the songs were close to done, but still had some work to do. So while I wait patiently for new tunes from Peter and Sam, Lets take a look at the five best Chevelle songs ever.
The most important Chevelle songs ever, in order.
Granted, the band put out Basement Tapes and Point #1 in 1998 and 1999, However, it wasn’t until 2002 that Chevelle began their career as a staple on rock. When the album Wonder What’s Next landed on my desk and I immediately became a fan of the band. And no just because they are named after the most bitchin muscle car ever, but because “The Red” was fresh and an exciting new track. It stood out, and I knew rock fans like myself were in for a treat. A band who knew how to write incredible lyrics and give us tool style riffs, but instead of 10 min interludes, turned the songs into 3 minute punch drunk type style songs.
Then in 20024, Chevelle came blazing out with This type of thinking (could do us in), and immediately they opened with the “The Clincher”. Once again, I was all in on this little band from Chicago.
In 2007, the and released Vena Sera. It was the first release after their brother Joe left the band, and it wasn’t amicable. “I get it” according to songfacts.com is possibly about their brother and how he was upset by not getting enough attention.
2009’s Sci Fi Crimes produce one of my favorite Chevelle tunes to this day ‘Letter From Thief”. Apparently, the song is about their equipment being stolen, but I always took as a love song.

A messed up love song, but a love song nonetheless.
Hats off to the Bull is probably the most “Tool” Style album as far as sonically. Yet, they still putting out 3 min punchy rock records, and this one did not disappoint. The title track most of all.
