The tallest Las Vegas resort is coming soon. That’s great! Or is it?
A group of Las Vegas real estate developers are planning on building the tallest Las Vegas resort yet, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal. According to the report, the resort is going to be super luxurious with a state-of-the-art NBA arena, (uh hmm, NBA did you say?).

It’s also going to have 2500 hotel rooms, plus restaurants and food courts, that locals won’t be able to afford at all (The RJ didn’t say that. I did). But the people developing Las Vegas’ tallest resort don’t give a rats’ a–, I mean they don’t care about locals. However, I care.
Because they plan on building Las Vegas’ tallest resort on the strip. On sacred land. The former site of Wet and Wild. At 2601 South Las Vegas Blvd. Otherwise known as the giant dirt lot just south of the Sahara Hotel.

Look, Wet and Wild was one of my favorite attractions on the strip and, quite frankly, they need to bring it back. No offense to the Wet and Wild Park whatever it’s called on the southwest side (and Cowabunga in Henderson), but there was something magical about the original Wet and Wild.
It was the original Day and Night Pool destination in Las Vegas. It was for the family, but it was also for those of us crazy kids in our 20’s and 30’s to let loose. The days of floating down the lazy river, drinking lots of …water, and listening to live music were unmatched. We used to party day and night. I even remember hosting concerts at Wet and Wild.
Fox5TV took a trip down memory lane in 2022, and while it was fun to reminisce, it’s high time someone bring it back to where it belongs: the Las Vegas Strip. Let them put Las Vegas’ tallest resort somewhere else. Like next to the Stratosphere, so those two can duke it out for bragging rights.

But it looks a little different in the Sunshine State than guys in uniform marching down an empty street. Basically, in the states we just drink a lot of beer and tequila and eat Mexican cuisine.
Tacos with all the trimmings like chicken, beef, sour cream and cheese, on a rustic background to be served in a restaurant with sombrero with margaritas. Many tacos and margaritas will be consumed this year at Cinco de Mayo in Vegas.
In fact, per flaviar.com, Cinco de Mayo pushes more beer sales as the Super Bowl or St. Patrick’s Day. And about 81 million avocados meet their demise on the fifth of May. Cause we love us some tasty guacamole. In the states, Cinco de Mayo has sort of evolved into a celebration of all things Mexican heritage. And we’re totally cool with that.

If you want to be really authentic for the holiday, smithsonianmag.com says to choose Mole Poblano, Chiles en Nogada (stuffed chiles in walnut sauce), Chalupas, lamb barbacoa, or carnitas with queso fresco for your dishes. Of course, many people in America just go for the enchiladas, tamales, and anything stuffed into a taco shell. Whatever you’re eating, the important thing is that we’re celebrating in the spirit of Mexico and their rich history.
