Las Vegas Casino Ellis Island Has Filed A Lawsuit Against F1
F1, Las Vegas Grand Prix, affectionately known locally as FU, is finally getting what they deserve.
According to News3lv.com, Ellis Island Hotel, Casino & Brewery has filed a lawsuit against F1. Let it be known, I am rooting for the little casino with the cheap beer, smoky karaoke and $9.99 steak dinner.
Las Vegas Casino Says ‘FU’ With A Lawsuit Against F1
Last year at this time, while I was still plotting my takeover of Xtreme Radio, I dealt cards in the World Series of Poker. And to be transparent, I had fun. It was a great gig. I was able to deal all the poker games, tournaments and cash alike. Plus, I learned a new skill, smiling at entitled clowns who felt as if it was ok to treat me and other dealers as If we were “the help” who didn’t deserve to be treated as human beings. (Looking at you Alan Kessler).

But the one thing I didn’t enjoy was the traffic getting to work every day. You see, The WSOP is at The Horseshoe and Paris, which sits on the Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard. Parking for employees of The WSOP is on Koval Lane and Flamingo, which was ground zero for F1 construction last year. There were days when I had to leave for work two hours early, just to make sure I made it on time. For reference, It normally takes me 15 mins to get to the Horseshoe. And As I sat in traffic trying to get in, I looked at all the businesses and wondered how they were making it.
Well, they weren’t.
According to Fox 5, local business are planning on filing a suit against F1 after exhausting all other options to come to a settlement. And it’s not just F1 they want to sue. They’re going after local government agencies and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority as well.
According to Casino.org, Las Vegas Casino Ellis Island claims that the construction “impeded” customers and employee’s ability to get into the property. The lawsuit also states that the night before the first practice round ““plaintiffs’ graveyard shift team was informed by F1 or its agents that no one [was] allowed to come or go.”
Not cool at all.
Ellis Island is Las Vegas Family. You know, the uncle who smokes too much, is always drunk and hits on anyone wearing a skirt that walks by — well, it’s not the uncle we’re necessarily proud of. But, we love him anyways. So, don’t mess with him. Ellis Island deserves to be compensated for their losses. Besides, if they don’t recoup then they may raise the price on their $9.99 steak special. If that happens, I’ll sue F1 too.
