Las Vegas Strip Named One Of Top 20 U.S. Tourist Attractions
Millions and millions of people travel to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip from all over the planet every year. There’s just so much to see and do when you’re here in Sin City.
A recent survey provided to us by PlayStar reveals the Las Vegas Strip is tied for 19th with Waikiki Beach in Hawaii as one of the best overall tourist attractions in the U.S.
The overall winner in this survey is the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Other tourist attractions in the top five include the San Diego Zoo (tied #2), South Beach Miami (tied #2), Central Park in the “Big Apple” (#4), and the Chicago River (#5). That’s the one that goes all green for St. Patrick’s Day.
Incidentally, another Nevada site to make the top 30 was the Hoover Dam, landing at #25. Tourist attraction rankings in this survey are based on Yelp reviews, Instagram hashtags, Booking.com reviews, State Safety reports, and proximity to major airports.

So, now that we know our state has two of the top 25 tourist attractions in America, let’s find out which ones those of us who live in Nevada love to visit.
A recent survey provided to us by Tickets2You discount ticket deals analyzes Google searches by Nevada residents who want tickets to theme parks. From May 2023 through April 2024, Universal Studios Hollywood leads the pack, averaging over 4,000 monthly searches.
Surprise, surprise! Second place belongs to Circus Circus Adventuredome right here in Las Vegas. Walt Disney World Resort lands in third. The rest of the top five tourist attractions Silver Staters want to visit are Knott’s Berry Farm (#4), and Six Flags Magic Mountain (#5).
The Most Disappointing U.S. Tourist Attractions
But wait, there’s more! Another recent survey provided to us by JeffBet looks at Tripadvisor and Google reviews of 45 major U.S. tourist attractions. Those with ratings of one to three starsm or phrases related to disappointing visits, were collected and analyzed.
The Kennedy Space Center takes the dubious honor of being the most disappointing U.S. tourist attraction with over 20% of their reviews being negative. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio is the second most disappointing destination.
Rounding out the top five are Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky (#3), the Biltmore in North Carolina (#4), and the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (#5).
Nevada tourist hot spots which made the disappointing list include the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens (#13), the Fountains of Bellagio (#20), and the Hoover Dam (#26).
