7 Memorable Olympic Moments From Paris Include Celine Dion
Memorable moments from the 2024 Paris Olympics are a plenty.
The 2024 Paris Olympics started in a very different way – with all of the countries, and their athletes participating, being introduced while cruising down the River Seine.
People loved it, and hated it. From someone who lives in Las Vegas – the land of shows, and production – I thought it was cool. Very different, and unique. And almost calming – even though it was quite the celebration! Host countries perform, and show images and representations of their country. And Paris did it well. From the Can-Can – to Celine – it was beautiful!
Overall, the Paris Olympics opening ceremony went off without a hitch – except for rain. But it is, after all, summer in Paris.
There were some very memorable moments from the opening weekend of the Summer Olympics. Including a phantom wardrobe malfunction, a cool metal horse on the River Seine, and “Bob the Cap Catcher.”
Here’s a rundown of some of the fun, and memorable Olympic moments from the opening weekend of the Summer Olympics in Paris.
1. Definitely the belle of the ball! Celine Dion’s comeback performance will probably be thee most memorable Olympic moment of the Paris games Ceremony. It was Dion’s first performance since she announced her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome back in 2022. Here is WE ARE SPEECHLESS. 🥹

2. Snoop Dogg has now become the new Betty White. He is the most beloved person on earth, and everyone loves him. How could you not?! He was a torch bearer – although I think we probably all expected a different version of a ‘torch’ from Snoop. But he represented the US like a pro. 3. France is known for the arts, and there was the usual creative artsy stuff that shows up at opening ceremonies. But nothing was cooler than the metal horse that “rode” down the River Seine.
4. Let’s go to Swimming – well, sort of. Emma Weber lost her cap in the pool. “Bob the Cap Catcher,” went viral after he went in after it, in his skimpy little speedo. Obviously, he quickly became an internet icon. I’m sure he’ll have a movie deal very soon.
5. The post says it all. This one was definitely worthy of the “King James” nickname.
6. Beyoncé introduced the American athletes in a T.E.A.M. U.S.A.#Beylympics #ParisOlympics pic.twitter.com/IW57Z474Cf Simone Biles reacts to Beyonce's EPIC Team USA intro for the Olympics pic.twitter.com/yTHk6Wsb6u
7. And let’s hear it for Las Vegas’ own Flava Flav, at the piano. If you didn’t know, he’s a classically trained piano player. He also signed a sponsorship deal with the USA women’s water polo, giving them a huge donation, and committed to supporting the women and the sport!
There are sure to be many memorable moments at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In the meantime – Viva la France!
