Sounds And Smells That Relax And Takes Us Back
Everyone has a sound or even a smell that calms us down. But what takes away the stress you might be going through…what are the sounds and smells that relaxes and takes you back.
That was one of the topics this morning on The Mike & Carla Morning Show. It was amazing how different sounds and smells bring people’s stress level down.
Even an article in VeryWellMind list a number of smells that can reduce the stress and why each aroma has it’s affect of different people. Quite the read if you get the chance.
What Are Those Smells And Sounds That Relax You
Now for Mike O’Brian, it seems that the smell of homemade bread is the smell that relaxes! As a child, his grandmother used to make it all the time. So, not only does it make him feel good, it’s a great memory!
Carla Rea loves the smell of carnations! This flower just does it for her and can relax her with one whiff! Not to mention that there are memories attached to the smell that make her smile.
And isn’t that what its all about? Well, of course it is…and that why listeners calling in and texting in gave us a really eclectic list of fragrances to add to our list.
The smell of a cake, freshly cut grass…but one of the most popular smells and sounds? Evidently it’s BACON! Not for pigs, but sure enough for people…we love the smell of bacon.
Oh, one other smell that Mike mentioned and it might not be on the list, but the smell of jet fuel from a plane. It just seems when you get close to an airport and you can smell it in the air, it tells Mike that he’s going some where…and that ain’t a bad thing.
You can listen to the entire segment and see if any of the aromas for you are mentioned…and enjoy!
