Nevada Residents Excited About New Internet Option Coming In 2025
Slow internet haters, rejoice! A popular company is making its way to Las Vegas. It’s one that has great reviews for their customer service and high-speed options to choose from. And for many Clark County residents, it can’t come fast enough.
Google Fiber Expanding Service To Las Vegas
For the very first time, Google Fiber is coming to Nevada. The GFiber blog recently reported that Nevada has been one of five states in the company’s sight since August of 2022. And now a plan is in motion to finally make it happen. The Clark County Commission approved the agreement with the GFiber franchise earlier this month. Making Clark County the first community in Nevada to get the service.
Google Fiber provides a high-speed fiber broadband internet. Which many families are upgrading to because it provides very fast service to multiple devices in the same home. An increasing need in American households with smart phones, tablets, and other electronics all requiring wifi access, often at the same time.
More Competition For Existing Internet Providers
Other companies in the Silver State, like Century Link, Cox Communications, and Quantum Fiber, offer similar high-speed services. But residents have not always been happy with the current options we have in Nevada. Google Fiber will bring a lot of competition for these other companies. Highspeedinternel.com named it the fastest provider in the country in 2023. And J.D. Power named it number one for customer satisfaction for residential internet in the south, according to Google Fiber’s website.

Google Fiber isn’t the cheapest option though, compared to other choices we have in Las Vegas. The company’s plans include a $70/month package for 1 gig of data to share with your household. However, with some Las Vegas residents frustrated with ongoing problems, having another option from a highly-rated company is a very welcomed idea.
Besides Nevada, Google Fiber is also planning to build networks in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho and Nebraska. The company has spent the last few years communicating with the communities they plan to build in. To learn exactly what each city needs and how to best serve them. The company’s blog indicates they are already in discussion with Las Vegas engineers. And they plan to begin construction at the end of the year so they can start providing service to Clark County residents mid-2025.
