Carlota is BACK!
So here’s the backstory: After months of hearing “We want the music BACK,” Carlota — one of the original X disc jockeys — decided she needed to take matters into her own hands. In a moment of “do or die” Carlota went into the X studio and took it over.
She locked herself in the studio and armed herself with a cooler of diet cokes and snacks; it was enough to last her the entire weekend. At first, Producer Jordan from the Dave & Mahoney Morning Show was confused when he saw this random lady start pushing buttons in the studio. He even asked, “Is this LEGAL?” Which Carlota responded with “I’m not too sure. . .”
Eventually, Jordan realized what she was doing, and he played along.
In the midst of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” Carlota cut the music off and turned on the mic. It was time to let Las Vegas know that the REAL X is back, and it’s here to stay.
Since the boss man was out of town, Carlota knew this was the perfect time to hop back onto the airwaves for the entire weekend.
During that whole weekend, Carlota literally overtook the X studio. She played great music, took requests and answered the phone lines — which flooded with calls from people asking “Is this change permanent?” She was able to give Las Vegas a familiar voice peppered with spice, comedy and edge.
Well, we’re here to share some news.
After information of Carlota’s “breaking and entering” welcomed our boss back from vacation. Things were slightly scary. At first he was infuriated. However, he realized something important.
During that weekend, people were extremely listening. The X’s social media accounts drowned in messages from people sending their warm wishes, encouragement and — of course — song requests to Carlota.
So, the boss made a decision, and we’re here to tell it: Carlota is here to stay!
Carlota is now the midday host for X 107.5 from Monday through Friday. She will be taking you along the workday with some vibrant, rockin’ and extreme music that will help pump you up for any of life’s occasions.
