Las Vegas Is Quickly Becoming The Sports Capital Of The World
Las Vegas will host the 2027 College Football Playoff title game, and no not because UNLV will be in it. That would be cool, but highly unlikely. It’s because Las Vegas is quickly becoming the sports capital of the world.
Las Vegas Beats The Odds
There was a day, not that long ago, when Las Vegas was a no-no when to came to professional sports. MLB? Nope. NBA? Oh hell No. NFL? Oh please! Never in a million years.
However, time flies and a million years have evidently passed.
Lets start with our Stanley Cup Champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, who took the league by storm in 2017 and have never looked back. Now, we are about to tear down the Tropicana to make a home for the A’s. The tallest Resort in Vegas has been cleared to be built, and it will come with a state-of-the-art NBA arena.
And of course, we are not only the home of the Bad Boys of the NFL, but we also hosted the biggest sporting event in the country, the Super Bowl. And we did a damn good job too. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Las Vegas was the most prepared for the Super Bowl, and there were no real credible threats ahead of the game. That’s a huge feat, but we are built for this kind of action. And now, The College National Championship wants in on it.

According to Networkaction.com, Las Vegas will host the 2027 College Football Playoff title game. Not only is it a lock that the CFP will be in Vegas in 2027, but they’ve also been wanting to get to Vegas for quite some time. Looks like they’ll finally get their wish.
Las Vegas Doesn’t Back Down From A Challenge
Imagine that a city that was told countless times (believe me I heard it many times), could never ever have major league sports because the city couldn’t handle it, is now, by far, the most sought-after city when it comes to pro sports. According to Bloomberg.com, nearly seven billion dollars has been committed to this city. Whether it be arenas, stadiums or negotiating deals with leagues
The huge shift in focus to pro sports in Vegas has become very reminiscent of the mass migration of franchises that made their way to Southern California in the 1950’s and ’60s. It’s almost like we see being told “no” as a challenge we intend to conquer.
Bottom line, be careful what you tell Vegas it can’t do. Our city’s slogan used to be “What Happens in Vegas, Stays In Vegas”, but maybe now it should be something like “Oh, No? Just Watch Us”.
