Your One Night Stand Destroyed Your Sheets, Who Pays For New Ones?
Listen to the segment here.
Q: Thomas asked Dr. Cooper of The Cooper and Anthony Show: if he has a hook up, like a one night stand, and she doesn’t say she’s on her period and then destroys his expensive sheets, is it his responsibility or hers to pay for new ones?
A: Yours. You got laid. She took a risk coming back to your house …to a strangers house. That’s a big deal for ladies. And she banged you. Sorry, that’s the price of doing business. You hosted, you pay.
And FYI…..She may not have known she was on her period. Sometimes it’s unexpected and sometime sex brings it about. You should be pleased because menstrual cycles can make women super horny which is the reason you likely got laid in the first place. You should be thanking her period, not shaming her for it.
Also, I’m sure you can clean your sheets. Cold water and soap should do it, but if they’re ruined so what? I mean, you could contact her and ask her to pay for them or split the cost of a new set or whatever but I wouldn’t. Why? Because girls talk. They tell each other stuff about guys they’ve slept with. You could be the cool guy who said nothing, or the douche who asked for money for his precious sheets. If you ever wanna get laid in your town again, say nothing. Be that first guy.
IN GENERAL…
If this happens in your regular, non-one night stand relationship, it’s best not to assign blame or financial responsibility for accidents like this. Instead, the best approach is to handle it with understanding and to be cool about it.
It could be seen as a joint responsibility to replace the sheets, sure, since it was an accident and nobody’s fault. Couples often face unexpected situations, and handling them together fosters a stronger bond and mutual respect. Not in Thomas’ case.
In more of a relationship sitch, the considerate approach would be to discuss the incident calmly, say that it was unintentional, and decide together how to address the issue of replacing the sheets. Sharing the cost might be a fair solution, or you could decide to take turns covering other expenses in the future.
The key is don’t be a douche.
